![]() ![]() He was living with his daughter, Ruth, wife of Homer Webster, in Coffey County, Kansas when he died on at age 85. ![]() Upon retiring as a farmer, he lived with his adult children. Hester’s husband, Joseph, was born in Ohio on May 11, 1823. Hester died there on Jat the age of 23 and was buried in Lacey Cemetery. With their seven children, the Alexander family moved to White Breast Township of Warren County, Iowa in 1860. and Thomas Jefferson Alexander in Indiana, but moved to Green County, Wisconsin by 1848 where they had Nancy A., James M., Sarah J., Ruth, and John H. Hester’s father, Edward, married Nancy Alexander there on Mar 29, 1844. Hester’s mother, Mary, died that same year, on Sep 27th. The family moved to Warren County, Indiana and Hester married Joseph Alexander there on Jan 12, 1843. ![]() Edward and Mary’s children were John, Elizabeth, Jackson, Ruth, and Hester. Hester Ann Allen was born on in Greene County, Ohio, the fifth child of Edward and Mary Allen. Sandy and his wife, Martha Ann, sold to the Belmont Township Trustees, one acre to be used for a burial ground in Section 8 of Belmont Township. This is recorded in Deed Book 2, page 381. Sandy and his wife, Martha A., sold to the Trustees, one acre and twelve and one half rods to be used for public burying ground. Sadly, Lacey Cemetery has not been maintained by the Township Trustees for decades, therefore it is nearly impossible to find gravestones, since briers, bushes, and trees have overtaken the cemetery. Lacey Cemetery is located at 14495 200th St., Belmont Township, Warren County, Iowa. ![]()
